Why Hot Copper?
Let’s face it… and we did!!! Our Hot Copper putter features a “Pure Copper (Cu) Putter Face.” The metal properties of pure copper for its softness are unmatched for the ball roll, response, sound, and feel. The color contrast of the top line offers a phenomenal visual alignment.
Some of the best putters ever made were made from brass or bronze, alloys of copper. These alloys were needed for their harder properties and shaft attached. However, the issues for designing putters from those alloys were limited due to the weight factors of copper and copper alloys.
Creating the Perfect Blend
We knew that pure copper, not the alloys, would have, "a sound, a feel, a roll, and a face like no other". The challenge of a pure copper face was designing and CNC machining the putter to create a blend of aesthetics and performance. We test each prototype for what we are looking for. Finally, we were able to marry the pure copper face to the Ontic Carbon Steel Signature ll putter head!
